me and my gf went to another mall, a very decrepit one that looked like it hadn't left the 70s. it only had one restaurant, a taco place. it didn't have any of the stores u'd expect to see in a mall in the us, they were all just little independent ones. most of them were very small and u could see everything from the outside, so we only went in 2. one was this store that sold western fashion targeted at latinos. going in there made me feel so small. it had these HUGE displays of hats, flannels, belts, boots, everything u'd expect to see in a store like this. and there were also hats that sold for hundreds if not thousands of dollars ! the other store we went in sold communion dresses and suits in one part, and kid's clothes and toys in the other part. no one else was in there except for us, not even an employee. half of the stores there were abandoned, but a few other non-abandoned ones were also completely empty. if u were sneaky enough u could probably steal from these places pretty easily. despite this, the mall seemed to be kinda busy ? it all felt so liminal and dreamlike.
after this, we went to goodwill. i got a sweater and some shorts for only $8 ! |
